Nothing wrong with that. More ideas per bar in a Britney track than in your average bit of prog.

And some of them will even be brand new ones, rather than old tat lifted from A Banks or S Howe!
I was a victim of goose-flirting the other day.
This bleeding great goose came up to me and wanted a light.
I said no.
Goose, there\'ll be no flirting today.

THUNDERFROG!!!!!!!!

Nothing wrong at all with that.

Quote from: "Geddy Lee"The really funny thing about it thought, is that right now at this precise moment I'm listening to Britney Spears.

And did you enjoy it?

Don't you think that's pushing it a little bit ?  I enjoy Toxic as much as the next guy and I'll defend its merits as a pop song till the cows come home but I wouldn't go as far as to say all her songs are better than a good Genesis or Yes song.

Better?.....well I guess that depends on how you look at it. It's a totally different sort of music to Genesis or Yes ( see, I didn't use a LABEL ). To be honest there probably are more IDEAS in a Britney song than a new Genesis or Yes song these days. I did say IDEAS and not FEELING or SOUL though. I can enjoy (mostly) all types of music

Point taken, but to be fair a new Genesis or Yes song at this point is referring to something that's at least ten years old  ;)

Quote from: "Mikey"Quite by chance I was given the new AC/DC album to listen to. Aptly Black Ice.
Did someone mention stuck in the past?
There's obviously a demand for it.

EIMA is not called Experiments in Prog Appeal

I wouldn't say that BLACK ICE is actually stuck in the past. I would say that it just sounds like AC/DC.

There is a demand for "stuck in the past" sounds though
Which was my point.
Same old....AC/DC, Quo
Pop...........Britney

Its liked, there's a demand for it.

Reading all of this and seeing a remark about the fact that EIMA is getting quite good reviews in the hardrock / metal press isn't that precisely the evidence that the experiment called EIMA seems to have succeeded?

I love it that I am able to recommend this album to so many different people from those who like their pop a bit more heavier to the hardrock / metalheads to progheads.
And when you read that they have been offered to tour with Dream Theater it is not only us who see their appeal has become a lot stronger.

Just read the DPRP Review and was drawn to this line:

With original guitarist John Boyes out of the frame

Which is quite surreal because I'm a photographer in the day job....
