Jem is going to be playing at the Lonely Robot gig in London and Craig will be on drums.

I'm not surprised that John gets upset when he's been constantly told that it's a shame it's not a Frost* gig. It's nothing to do with Frost*, it's a show of John's solo album which is very good and actually made it into the national charts!

Please make the effort as it will be a magnificent evening.

That's not in the slightest bit what I meant. When I saw the picture of John and Jem I said "I do hope this is a Frost* gig in the making" and made no reference to the Lonely Robot gig as I was already aware that that was going ahead. When I said it was a shame I (again) meant nothing to do with the Lonely Robot gig. My wording was poor perhaps, but it was misinterpreted by JM. I'm not the sort of person that would say something so insensitive directly to someone's face like that and it pains me to think that John might now have the impression that I am.

My grumbles would be rather different, inasmuch as JM seems to like wearing his NASA gear a little too much for my tastes 

If I was to get him an ESA flight suit and a model of Rosetta to put in his stage show for the Scala, do you think he'd get with the European programme? 

At least Cosmograf used ESA on "The Man Left in Space", and I've thanked Robin for doing so ... 

(And I did have a brief chat with Jem a year ago about doing some music for Rosetta, but it never came to anything, probably more down to me not following up than anything else. Sigh. In the end, we used another keyboard twiddler, one of Greek origin, instead 

But I still have designs on using "Snowman" for the end of the mission, as the comet returns to the dark frozen wastelands of the outer solar system: listen to the lyrics wih Rosetta in mind, and you'll see why  )

p.s. Haven't bought the Lonely Robot album yet: will do so, of course, and will see if I can make it to London. That said, I also see that JM's playing in Zoetermeer beforehand, a few kilometres from my house: any news on what band will travel for that and will anyone from this board be watching the Dutch gig [too]? Are you coming to Zoetermeer, Nells?

I've always envisioned an astronaut stranded in space while listening to "Wedding Day." Then "Gravity" came out and I thought, "Yeah, kinda like that. But more plausible."

I'm not sure of JM's reasoning for choosing a NASA suit (perhaps influenced by Doctor Who?), but it's not the only national head scratcher going. Australia participated in the Eurovision song contest. Someone's still using MapQuest, it would seem.
