We had lamb this evening as well - half a shoulder, studded with garlic and draped with rosemary twigs, roasted with onions in the tin and served with mashed potatoes and broccoli after a first course of Yorkshire pudding with gravy. (I'm half Yorkshire, so the YP HAS to be served as a separate course. It's the rules.)

Onion or just regular gravy?

... that Black Light Machine is the best driving song in the world. Especially at maximum volume. And I mean so loud the speakers distort. Although it does tend to make you feel like you're playing a PS3 racing game instead of really driving, so it could be dangerous.

Well, on the subject of biscuits.. I'd like to announce that Tunnocks' Caramel Logs should be renamed Coconut Logs to avoid confusion with the vastly superior Caramel Wafers.

When I become professor of Tunnockology at Uddingston university, this will be my first recommendation.

Well, the gravy was made like my mum makes it, with the (defatted) juices from the roasted lamb and onions mixed in with the dregs of the Yorkshire pudding batter (which contained sage and chopped onions) from the mixing bowl after the bulk of it had been poured into the tin, then boiled up with some of the cooking water from the potatoes and some Bisto onion gravy granules... so it was onion and lamb gravy. Went down very well with my two sons.

RacingHippo, I´m not sure what those Tunnocks are but sure, I´m up for it. I´m getting tired of our Ginger snaps (do they qualify as biscuits??). I´ve had thousands since Christmas it seems.
