I have some demos recorded, but I don't have a drum set, nor do I know anyone that can play one decent enough to record for me. So I'm looking for an electronic alternative, so does anyone have any suggestion, and price doesn't matter. It also needs to be for Windows, preferably Vista or Windows 7 compatible.

Look up Toontrack's EZDrummer and S2.0. I have the first version (DFHSuperior) Really detailed sample library.

Same here. Highly recommended.
EZ drummer comes with thousands of midi files ready to use right? If you want more drumkits you have to buy the extra libraries. DFH superior is "just" a fantastic sample library (no midi files included). I do believe SD 2.0 combines those 2, so you'd have very realistic sounds + ready to go midifiles.

Hmmm, it's time I upgrade DFH superior to SD2.0.  8-)

+1 EZ drummer user here as well.

Highly recommended. Not sure what SD 2.0 offers in addition but I imagine
some day upgrading to it. I'm on a Mac so I have no idea how it performs
on PC.  I do wish EZ had more midi files and some odd time signature ones
at that, though it's easy to add those few notes once you drag and drop them.

Toontrack had a buy one,get one offer for the expansions but that has now
sadly passed.  Still it's not like they break the bank.

EZ drummer is great!  No one really makes the right odd-time loops that I look for though, so I usually just create my own on the Fantom G.

...but yeah, get EZ if you want to start laying down tracks by the dozens in a short while  ;)

I'd suggest checking out Addictive Drums as an alternative. Lots of variety, excellent samples AND lots of MIDI files, and at a very reasonable price.

I always use Addictive Drums, lots of options for mixing and the sounds are great imo.

If EZ Drummer can top Addictive Drums, I'll have to look into it.

Hotdamn, Thanks guys! I am in the process of downloading the EZ program, so I will report back later.

If you like, i can play some drumtracks for you.
I use a Roland td20 and they have excellent sounds, but i also can record it in midi.

I would suggest Reason 4 (the latest one). This is an excellent program for programming and processing drums. I think it might be the best one out there.

Then there's cubase, which if I'm not mistaken has a really good drum program... And they sound ridiculously real if you process them right.

Addictive sound way better than EZ in my oppinion. I have used them both and I'm pretty tired of EZ by now. So please check addictive before you make your decision, otherwise you'll regret it! :D

I´ve used EZ drummer on some tracks, quick and easy to find a base for writing, and then play via midi to actually adapt to what happens in the song. Most often I´ve started with one of the midi-files and then edited some drums in/out, play a new rythm while keeping the hi-hats or so. If your interested, thats what exactly what I did on Speechless, which can be found in the Friends of Frost area.

I´ve also used the NS-kit from Natural studio, the free version that I found on the internet. I´m not sure if it is still available but even the free version sounded really excellent, with good dynamics. If you can´t find it, PM me your e-mail adress and I´ll be able to send you the files (Native instruments Kontakt-version and by far not as big as EZ or BFD and the likes).
I know for I told me so!

another thumbs up for superior drummer 2.0.. another option is to get hold of drumagog and record the drums yourself with a pencil on a desk!

It's not a drumming software, but what about Drums On Demand drumloops ?
