I was a victim of goose-flirting the other day.
This bleeding great goose came up to me and wanted a light.
I said no.
Goose, there\'ll be no flirting today.

:-(

The Prisoner was one of my favourite TV series of all time, I spent a good chunk of my teenage years obsessing over it.

And loved his turn as the prison governer in Escape From Alcatraz as well.

Hope The Prisoner remake does his memory justice although I doubt it.

Yep, very sad news.
Heard about it on the way home and planned to start a thread entitled "Come in Number 6...." but Tom's sums up my feelings much better.

Despite being old enough to have caught it when first broadcast, I didn't see The Prisoner until sometime around 1990 when it became available on video. It had accrued an awesome reputation by then and I was most definitely not disappointed. Some of the very best television ever ...

In reading the story of McGoohan's death, I noticed a story from last year saying that it was being remade for ITV. Somehow, you just know it's going to be pants. What next: a remake of Twin Peaks? Good grief ...

A sad day. Farewell, Number 6: be seeing you!

A semi-comforting, semi-disturbing memory of childhood. I remember pushing my luck trying to stay up late to watch TV in the late '60s.

Getting to watch "The Prisoner of Zenda" at 9 pm was another fond memory of the period- it took a lot of sucking sweets and trying not to cough to get away with that one.
