Hi Frosties,

I was watching the Jeff Beck at Ronnie Scotts concert (recorded from TV a few months ago), and the song with Imogen Heap just blows my away. Wow. Alas, the guest bits in th TV broadcast are not on the CD that was released just before Christmas (though that's fab too).

Two questions, if anyone is kind enough to answer:
1) what was the song, and where can I find the original? Is it a song from one of Jeff's albums, or something from one of Imogen's?
2) If I had to get one of Imogen's albums, which one?

Cheers

Dur...

It's amazing what one can find out if you do some homework. Sorry to waste people's cyberspace. It's "Blanket", and was a single by Urban Species. And I like it a lot.

Loved the version with Jeff Beck though - beautiful guitar playing.

Cheers

The DVD from that gig is apparently coming out in a few weeks. It's definitely on my want list.  :D

If you want to hear more Heap/Beck goodness, get a hold of JB's 'You Had It Coming' CD.  A very cool album, IMO.

I had NEVER heard of Imogen till I read Jem's blog (I'm so grateful!)
How come a so talented woman is so unknown abroad? She has a french wikipedia page though...

Anyway, I just love her music.

I absolutely adore Imogen Heap and think she's amazing.

If you're going to get an album, she has two (one's about to be released this year, not too sure when does anyone know?) one called "i-Megaphone" and the other "Speak For Yourself".

if i were to pick one it would be Speak for Yourself which is a stunning album.

:)
"I bet you weren\'t expecting this!!"

I bought both of them 8-)
I can't wait to listen to the new one ;)

I haven't bought either of Imogen's albums yet, but I downloaded a few singles from i-Tunes, and I really like them a lot.

"Cumulus" is fab - its an instrumental that has shades of Arvo Part and Philip Glass, and is really beautiful.

"Goodnight and Go" is one of the absolute very best songs I've heard in ages (no offence intended, Jem!). I thought it was a straightforward love song until I paid proper attention to the lyrics ;)

Its odd really because when I didn't know who she was I hated the song at the end of the movie The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. I'm still not sure the song suits the film, but I might at least reconsider my thoughts on the song itself.

I agree - Immie is fab ;)
Of the 2 albums, I certainly prefer the latter, Speak for Yourself. And I'm with Dodie on Goodnight and Go - completely brilliant, absolutely lovely.

But Just For Now is the best :)
If you haven't yet realised just how astoundingly talented she is, go and watch this! It gives me butterflies and brings tears to my eyes.

I don't believe she has a date for the new album yet as it's being continually revised... sound familiar? ;)  Watch her vlogs for news...
* May contain nuts.

My favourite song is probably 'headlock' the first song on 'Speak for Yourself'
I just think everything is SO well done. The arrangement is amazing, the vocal phrasing is simply brilliant, the production is exquisite....

yeah...so quite good really :)
And then there's "Hide and Seek"...Damn i love vocoders sometimes :D

She reminds me alot of Joni Mitchell.
It's in the post!

rogerg

she also has an album as "Frou-frou".  she's super-fab in my book.  can't wait for the new album.

Just listening to 'The Moment I Said It' and I may actually have fallen in love with this woman (again). Sometimes a song just hits you right there and damn!

But there\'s nothing more to say

Jem
