It was the Yorkshire reference, I bet.  First time the 'split' has not gone with the 'split' !!!  So...

Frost* T-shirts are going on Le Tour
Each stage they will be at the fore

Le Tour starts in one day from now
I'll be glued to the tele from now

"Teach In" sang us Ding Dinge Dong
The Dutch with a dubious song
That's jazz.  Jazz is weird...

Frost* T-shirts are going on Le Tour,
Each stage they will be at the fore,
In yellow, of course,

Le Tour starts in one day from now,
I'll be glued to the tele and how,      [really? c'mon guys ...  >:(]
To watch as the bikes,

"Teach In" sang us Ding Dinge Dong,
The Dutch with a dubious song
And cheeses as hats,

To watch as the bikes,
Zoom past all the tykes,                            (Yes, really.  The most glorious sporting endeavour!!  Doping and blood replacement aside....)

The "really?" comment referred to the second line of the second split limerick, Renters, which ended in exactly the same two words as the first line: shocking breach of the regulations, sir.

That's why I edited it  >:(  ;)

My bad.  Hadn't spotted that.  Thought you were having a dig at the pure art of cycling!  I'm with you, bad form.

PS Shall we get back to the Limerick(s)

With all the grace of a mutated sow          (take away doping and blood and you're left with Bradley Wiggins, who isn't even in it this year)

It all made a godawful pong
