Re-Southampton, made the big mistake of getting a ticket for the balcony seats. Must be my age, no more mosh pits for me but unfortunately the sound was even worse up top. Not only was it a reverberated mush but in the cheap seats it actually suffered (certainly with Frost) with a low volume level. When it was turned up the mush just got worse. Frankly when DT appeaerd it wasn't much better. That'll teach me for wanting a sit down.
On the plus side I thought both bands played brilliantly and certainly complimented each other. At a better venue it would have been the gig of the year without doubt.
Thanks Jem but  hope to see you and the lads again at the Peel real soon. Cheers Tom

Quote from: "Mouse"Thank you for the big massive hug in Leeds, Jem!  :D

My pleasure. Hugs are the actual currency of the universe anyway so I'm always happy to lob a few freebies out there.

Brilliant show, huge shame about the sound quality, especially for Hyperventiate.
I was stood 1 'row' from the front, most of the people I was with went just to see you guys.
BLM was just epic, got it spot on, sound quality improved a little by then.
We saw Dec at the end, but he looked busy carrying equipment so we didn't bother him :p
DT were brilliant, but that goes without saying.

Very annoyed I missed out on the tour CD :(

Quote from: "Jem"Thanks again everybody for your input and marvellous support. Have a lovely rest of the weekend.

And thanks to you too, Jem: while Southampton wasn't quite the gig I would have hoped for, it does nothing whatsoever to diminish my respect, admiration, and frankly slightly embarrassing (for a man of my age etc. etc.) love of what Frost* does for me both musically and comically  :D

Meeting you briefly at the end was both nice and odd: being a fan is a peculiar asymmetric experience, and while I've watched, heard, and read you a lot, it's strange to actually meet you, knowing that you know (next to) nothing about us. In my real life (!), plenty of people know who I am and what I do, so it's odd to be on the other side of that. Not that it's made any the easier by having to introduce oneself using a faintly ludicrous online name, but I suppose that's an shackle purely of my own making  :D

Since I'm fully convinced that the Frost*ies as a whole are an interesting bunch of creative and often professionally successful people in their own rights, here's my suggestion for the next phase of Frost*: we all club together, rent a big farm somewhere, and try the collective hippy thing together, band and groupies, for a few days/weeks/months, and see what emerges from our combined talents?

How prog would that be?

Then again ...  :D

Interesting suggestion, TA - would that be before, after, or instead of the desert island?

Or how about on the island, Catherine? The Big Island of Hawai'i has desert on one side, jungle on the other, and alpine farms on the slopes of the mountains in between for our commune.

Plus a city of large telescopes on the summit of Mauna Kea, meaning that I can practise my trade while you lot brew the beer and mead, and threaten to boil Jem et al. in a pot unless they write us new music  :D

Pedro, ZZ Top'll be on at dinner time, Whitesnake then Def Leppard - that's my evening booked.

Anyone manage to catch Pendulum's set yesterday too - it was on the money  ;)

Can I just say despite the sound (and being lucky enough to be wearing ear plugs) I thought Frost* were awesome! yes the sound was against them but boy did they do a brilliant job. Everyone was note perfect (harmonies were spot on!!) Bugger me was DDD a highlight!!

Also wanted to say thanks to Jem and John for sticking around to talk to muppets like me!
I was all a bit starstruck :S

Really made my year as I'm off on cruise based adventures doing music in a few short days and was worried I might miss the gig.... :)

Apologies for the tallness Jem  :o
"I bet you weren\'t expecting this!!"

I know it's a cliché'd remark, but it was REALLY all our pleasure Dec! :D  :D
Big thanks to the band for putting on such a superb pair of shows.

Oh, and good luck with the last push on Template for a Generation chap!

Dec, was Mr Petrucci impressed that you were playing his signature model?
