Steven Wilson, vocalist/guitarist from Porcupine Tree, has released a solo album (as you probably know).

If you click on the following link //http://www.burningshed.com/store/kscope/freedownload/11/ and subscribe to updates (you can always unsubscribe at a later date) you'll get a free download of one of the tracks.  It's a corker - very PT-sounding.  My mate reliably informs me that this is the most "Tree" sounding track on the album.

Enjoy!   :)
Innit.

Disturbing.
That Lasse Hoile needs to see a psychiatrist (or maybe it's all Steven Wilson's deranged ideas)
Conceivably I'm just too old for all this wierdness.

Still; its a cracking album  :D

I certainly agree that one or other or both of them need to have their head examined...although I should probably then join that queue, because I think the video is stunningly good.

Speaking of Wilson and knowing a lot of you guys like to tweak and play with songs, there is a remix contest for the track Abandoner  -->  HERE  <-- . Is anyone gonna try something with that?

Bert

I think Steve Wilson is a genius, and I think Insurgentes is a fantastic album.

However, am I the only one getting a bit weary of the Dungeness strangeness and deliberately wacko imagery of Lasse Hoile ? It's beginning to grate in the same way as the ubiquity of Anton Corbijn's stuff for U2, although thankfully, not in the same way as U2

For me anyhow...  :D

I think I prefer this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=06JWDLTx4l0  :D

Thanks for bringing my attention to that one. It's my first attempt at a remix but I'm quite satisfied with the result. At least it's completely different from the original. Maybe I'll post the remix here at a later point in time...

Was that you there yesterday...I was about 4 from the front of the queue, in my Frost* hoodie and a Metallica tshirt - couldn't be doing with wearing a Porcupine Tree tshirt like everyone else lol

Was not quite sure I recognised you without the fan...

Not sure how well it went down when I asked the great man to sign a couple of Fish cds

I have this idea of Steven Wilson in my mind that he's a miserable, depressed man. Can someone please confirm that he's not like that in real life? That he's actually all smiles and happy and nice and such?

Ahhhh.... so that was you!! Yes, myself and Karin (Philadelphia) were there about halfway back in the queue. I was somewhat nervous about chatting to Mr S but I needn't have worried since he recognised her straightaway and that was that...

We did see a couple of Frost* hoodies and wondered who they might be!

I can confirm he is not miserable and grumpy - very nice man! I don't know why, but I also had the impression that he would be like that. Strange!
