Other Bands / Re: Marillion - 2012 UK Gigs and New Album
November 01, 2012, 06:34:27 PM
I've followed Marillion since the Script days and have continued to enjoy both Marillion and Fish since his departure.

For me Marbles is my favourite Marillion album, but Sounds That Can't Be Made is becoming another classic. All the songs are top notch.

My family went to the Cambridge gig this year and we thoroughly enjoyed it. So much so that we've bought our tickets for the Marillion weekend in Wolverhampton in April.

We're going to be hitting the road around midday on Monday... 4 hours or so from Lowestoft on a good run. I've forwarded the 'proof of purchase' email for our 4 tickets to our son, who's at Derby Uni. If all else fails he'll have to attend and collect our T-Shirts!
Fingers crossed!

Thanks, I've sent a PM to Nellie.

I think I should have added the tickets one at a time and selected the shirt sizes for each.

Ask Frost* / Multiple T-Shirt sizes for DVD Shoot gig?
September 28, 2010, 10:17:44 PM
Hello people,

Seconds have past since ordering 4 tickets for the family to attend the DVd shoot at Derby Uni (amazingly our eldest sons' Uni  :D ).

I couldn't suss out how to select different T-Shirt sizes... or should I have made 4 seperate ticket orders? The Missus would like a ladies shirt. ;)

Any now I look back at the small print, in my haste to order the fast disappearing tickets, I see I should have written something in the comments box for the DVD credits! How about using some bold type there guys? I missed that.

Did I dream it? :)

It's always possible that I have mixed the CD up with several other bands that have released 5.1 mixes.

Grrr... Amazon just delivered a two disc version of Riverside's Anno Domini High Definition album. What's wrong with that you may be saying. Well not much really, except I hadn't studied the product listing close enough and it didn't contain the 5.1 mix DVD, but a Live DVD instead.

So I'm still left hunting around for a copy of the 5.1 mix DVD edition. Any ideas? Anyone spotted copy looking lonely on a CD shop shelf anywhere?

Maybe not Prog, but chuffing good.  8-)

Thanks for the info. Downloading the freebie track right now.

Oooh, there's a 5.1 mix DVD in the special edition.  8-)  More money on the credit card!

Apparently jem_of_godrey's fans are as 'smart as a whip'. :)

but, jbonamassa's fans are smarter...

Quote...

"What do you mean by 'stupid'?
Stupid Fight can't go out and administer an intelligence test to each person that's sending messages to a celebrity. So instead, it estimates based on several stupid indicators. Are they using twenty exclamation marks in a row? Do they endlessly use the abbreviation 'OMG'? Do they seem incapable of working out where their Shift key is? These indicators have a strong correlation with the message, and its sender, being stupid."

My copy seems to be taking forever to arrive. Amazon want me to review the seller already. ;)

In an attempt to get this album we've decided to glue all the Incident tracks together in iTunes as one track. It'll be heard as one piece then, perhaps it'll grow. ;)

Quote from: "Tricky"It's not a PT album, it's a SW album with the other members of PT playing on it.

Yup, exactly what I was thinking during our first listen.

Quote from: "keithd"I've heard it a few times and can't say I'm too fussed about it  :(  Personally, I prefer some of the previous albums.

Again, spot on in my opinion, it's OK, but nothing more for me. A real shame, I was really looking forward to this release. I feel, Blank Planet, Deadwing, Stupid Dream, In Absentia and Lightbulb Sun all surpass The Incident. :(

With my son starting university in Derby in a week (studying Music Technology and Production), we're hoping to go to the Derby show. I have to collect him the next day to bring him home for two gigs and then back to Derby on Sunday. Nearly 200 miles each way... eeek 1200 miles in just over a week if I include taking him up there on Saturday!

Really looking forward to hearing all of Once Around The World live though.  8-)

Ewww, grey on white website, that's nasty to read. Nearly as bad as white text on black. :)

So are the 5.1 versions on DVDA or the white elephant that is SACD? Anyone know?
