Any Danoraks on this forum? I'm a huge fan... I see they've added some European dates to their Left Bank Holiday 2009 tour including three UK dates... I've booked tickets for Hammersmith Appolo.
Saw them on their 2007 dates and they had a absolutely cracking band with them.

I LOVE STEELY DAN, so there! I have no idea when it was but I went to see them at Wembley arena (which I hate) and was nearly thrown out for dancing too much (will you sit down!!), I had an aisle seat FGS.
I'll have to check out the tour dates but Hammy O sounds good to me.

Yep, I'm a big Dan fan. However, the chances of getting to Hamstersmith or Birmingham on a school night or not so big. I'll probably have to settle for Nearly Dan in Manchester on the Friday before :roll:

Yep, I'm a Dan fan too. Saw them in Glasgow last time they toured. Not sure I'll make it to any of the gigs this time.

There is another Dan trib doing the rounds called Steely Scam with a four piece brass section, saw 'em the other night in Southampton... pretty bloomin' good I thought... first song up was 'Don't Take Me Alive' - WORD!
Keep an eye out for 'em.

Once did a live webchat with them when they were plugging 'Two Against Nature'- one of the people submitting questions was Phil Thornalley (who was very surprised when he got an email back from the BBC saying "what, *the* Phil Thornalley?") which led in turn to a big discussion between Donald and Walter about the manifold charms of Natalie Imbruglia...very surreal.

Seemed nice blokes, if a little aloof.

Never liked the music much though - just a bit too 'lite' with the arrangements for my taste.

On a Dan note, I'm a fan going back forever, and while Drew Zingg massacred live what Larry Carlton et al. had done in the studio, I loved his lunatic energy on tour.

The current lineup doesn't fill me with the same sense of joyful abandon, and WB's playing is as directionless as ever-he was always a better bassist than guitarist, Josie honourably excepted.

I have booked to see them in Birmingham,
I saw them back in 2007, really good show.

I've only been a fan for 5 yrs, obviously i knew who they were before then.

Huge fan of the Dan

First album I got was Aja which is still one of my fav's closely followed by Royal Scam, I love Larry Carlton's playing on it

Big fan of Lord Fagen's solo stuff too

So any Frost*ies doing the UK shows next week?

I shall be venturing up to the Big Smoke again (and 'red eye' train back) to see the Hammersmith show.

I've picked up a set list on the interweb from earlier in the month at one of the US shows... looks good, blimey we might even get 'Reeling in the Years'!
