Hooooo yesssss!

We've just been asked to cover an ELP song for a tribute CD Classic Rock Presents Prog are doing. Although I love the Emerson Lake and Powell album the best, I felt it only right and proper to go for the jugular so.... we're doing "Fanfare For The Common Man".  :lol:

If Frost are gonna do ELP, doing "Fanfare..." only seems right and proper.  :D  8-)

I have some unhinged planned for it though... ;)

Grunk_

Stick it in the freezer and make it Frost*y!  :D

I do hope so (the unhinged bit): I'm not sure I'm a huge fan of Fanfare, if you'll pardon me the pun, because it's one of ELP's better known nicks from classical music, and (IMHO) somewhat too well-known.

Still, I am prepared for the prog mash-up master to prove me completely wrong  :D

Jem

I haven't got time to tackle Karn Evil 9.   :P

I did think about doing Touch and Go, but I'm not sure I could do anything to improve on it. Same for Hoedown. I'm not a fan of Lucky Man so that's out.

Mars The Bringer Of War could have been a right laugh though.  :D

Besides, every man and his (prog) dog will want to hear Fanfare. It'll be a good ad for the band.  :D

I'd be concerned if you didn't. Yet another thing to look forward to in this non-Frost* year! Woohoo!  8-)

@Bert: Sorry mate.  :)
@Gonzo - Genius!  :D

Now we just need to wait to hear how much CRPP are going to charge Jem for the pleasure of giving them quality noteage with which to fill their disc. ;)

Only joking. Actually, I was going to add to my original post "you've made an old man very happy...  but that's enough about Pedders"  :D

I didn't though. You're near enough a national treasure in my book.  :D

I agree with you there and that's more than enough reason to do it. Plus, I'm absolutely sure that even if it did start off with riff nicked from Aaron Copland, there's at least a chance that once you're finished with it, it'll end up sounding like a mix between Dimitri Shostakovich, Heiner Goebbels (give him a listen; excellent stuff, despite the name  ;) ), and Tony Hatch.

Ooh, there's a thought: Frost* cover Crossroads. Midlands surfer dude prog  :D

(By the way, in response to a tweet I saw on the front page, yes, please, you need to play De Boerderij again a.s.a.p.: remember that anechoic chamber offer I made you to go with it?)

Could we fill it though? Nothing worse than a half empty Boerderij...
