I mean, for example, you really should adopt my positions on Marmite (yes, always), tattoos (fine, but only on other people), and the monarchy (off with their heads). And then there's Brian Cox ...

8)

Prof. Brian Cox or Brian Cox the actor?
It might just be the Prof.

Warning for anyone not wishing to hear the new tunes
'Heartstrings' plays before the interview and 'Numbers' follows after the interview.
That was rather good  :) :)

I even agree about beards. Oh dear

Sorry? Can you explain why it's such a bad thing to be agreeing with me? I am convinced that you could do much worse than to let me into your head to run your thoughts and opinions on many topics, not just vinyl & beards.

I mean, for example, you really should adopt my positions on Marmite (yes, always), tattoos (fine, but only on other people), and the monarchy (off with their heads). And then there's Brian Cox ...

Phew. Only 2 out of 4. I'm getting better. Thanks, Mikey

So, we're not holding out for a knighthood any time soon?  8)

A knighthood for who? Professorbriancox or Professorme? He has already accepted an OBE, so we know which side of the coin he's on. He is an athiest, so gets approval on that front, but I'm not sure why his Wikipedia says he's an "English physicist": odd.

As for me, I'm an avowed republican; I don't need no stinkin' badges ...  :P

Just finished listening. A brilliant programme over all with great interviews from two great bands. Great. ... Did I say great? But especially enjoyed Jem's interview. Always brilliant to hear about the process. :) Hearing the second track from the album was great too, though I didn't really want a spoiler. But it's got me really excited about the album now. I know that we've known it's happening for some time now, but I was stil kind of in the mindset of "Well we've been told it's going to happen before and it somehow just didn't". But actually hearing the tracks brought it all home and now I'm boyishly excited. :) :) Did anybody else think the second track was a bit Syncronicityish? :) Brilliant stuff. I must message Iris and congratulate her for a great job also. The prog gods are good.

Glad to be help, as ever  8)

In a parallel Universe, Marmite would be eaten by Germans and not Brits: the essential process for concentrating brewer's yeast was discovered by Justus von Liebig in the 19th century. But while my German wife and half-German kids are not fans, my fully Dutch-born cat quite likes the stuff.

Also, since we're on the topic, I have to report that Tesco's own brand yeast extract is pretty damn good, closer to the original Marmite recipe, darker black, stiffer, and with more umame than the current browner, shinier, gloopier Marmite. The latter is still good, but not a patch on the sadly-discontinued Marmite XO, which was more like the stuff I grew up with.

Are there any other Marmite heads here who've tried other supermarket own brands? Any recommendations?

(As a warning, anyone mentioning Vegemite here will be swiftly excommunicated.)
