The Shipping Forecast is like poetry

We are just at "be prepared" status, so like good Scouts have logs for the fire, candles, batteries for the torch, biscuits, tea and sausages... just in case.

The Gable End Weather Centre is still predicting snow and has a current temp of -1.9C, prompting the question, is it now "too cold" for snow ?

Name me another band site where you get this kind of stuff, eh ? Ain't it great  :D

A little tiny bit of snow here in Middle England this afternoon, skies currently clear with a lovely half moon almost directly overhead.
I am out of the office. Messages can be left with Mr. C Lyons on 020 7722 3333

That very bright star down a bit and to the right about an 1/8th of a sky from the moon - is that Jupiter, does anyone know ?

It is Venus. And we have a comet in our midst. Low in the horizon to the east, it's pretty faint, but you should be able to see it with binoculars for all of Feb.

Astronomy. Just so rocks.  :D

We got another foot Friday night and everyone is running out of space to move
the snow in our village. The snow banks are almost as tall as my truck in spots.
I'm going for a walk tomorrow to get my mail and I'll take  some pics and post
here soon.

Now that's an AWESOME view you have there Roger!! It must be nice during the summer
to just kick back with a tasty beverage and relax. You know where it's at.

rogerg

thanks!  I do love sitting out there, and watching the day and evening and night go by!

I put up a few more sunset pictures (plus some of the owl that's been hanging out) on my flickr page:

Just had a huge business trip postponed - and have been given a day with the family!
I was a victim of goose-flirting the other day.
This bleeding great goose came up to me and wanted a light.
I said no.
Goose, there\'ll be no flirting today.

THUNDERFROG!!!!!!!!

And I'm suffering from the flipside of working from home...

No day off for me.

That said, I did walk to the village this morning. It was magical. Even if I did fall on my arse halfway there.
