I'm wishing I could have another go at it now - I could have finally expressed just what a major impact Frost* (i.e. Jem) has had on my musical life.

Mine would have been something like 'Frost: the soundtrack to my middle age"  ;)

He'll be the unusually thin, not particularly talkative one.  :D

In real life, Roger and Cairn were busy thwarting subway muggers in New York City last night and I believe he's performing at Carnegie Hall tonight... again.

Such is the life of a teacher from Vermont, eh Rog?
...and I can feel the world is turning...turn around

Glad you guys are okay. And meeting Peter and Paul from PP&M, too? It's been a rather eventful week for the Grows! Best of luck tonight.

I've sung with PP&M before, but Cairn got to meet them and Peter even bought her a danish!

bittersweet, however (not the danish, that was delicious!) since this is their first Christmas gig at Carnegie without Mary.  sad.

We got collared by the film crew guys. You jsu go Errr....................What to say?
They asked Cameron about his drumming and i got the tattoo in aswell and rattled off something about midlife crisis
Had a quick chat with Jem and Mitchell who informed me id never get the tattoo off!
Im amazed how many people asked if it was real. It is!
Thanks to Craig to for making my sons night by getting him on stage for a photo of the kit with Craig.
He really wanted a go so he could do his rendition of Toys, Welcome to Nowhere or Pocket Sun. Although hes not sussed out the middle section of the last one yet. We asked Craig and he said he doesnt know what to do either. Just count to 16 and hit things was his reply. Top fella!
Tally Ho Chaps

Oh, that's right! I do remember you mentioning that before. And, yes, sad about Mary. I'm glad they chose to continue and happy that you get to be a part of it.

Just back home in Scotland after a great evening.  Thank you to all the band for entertaining us, musically and with humour.  Special thanks to Jem for signing my Big Banana (ooo Matron!  ;) ).

And it was especially 'wondreful' to meet so many Frost*ies -some I haven't seen since Summer's End or the Peel in 2008 and others I met for the first time.  What a decent bunch you all are!

Pip pip!  8-)
Come on, you\'re a lion!

Twas indeed brill, and really great to meet so many Frost*ies in the flesh for the first time  :D

Fig 0:

Many many huge thanks to Messers. Godfrey, Mitchell, Blundell and King for a fantastic nights fun, also to everyone else whose hard work made it all so brill. And especially Nellie, naturally.
The day did not go anything like I expected, with the possible exception of the actual gig.

Step 1: Train from Ludun to Derby, ETA 1610 - Train breaks down at Loughborough, doesnt get in until about 1700  :x
Step 2: Meet Fellow Frosties in Jonty Farmer at 1630 - finally arrive at 1810
Step 3: Expect there to a half-dozen or so Frosties there - there must have been 30-40!!! :D (see Fig 0, above)
Step 4: Go to gig, walking in -10deg C on lethal icy pavements - get given lift by kind Frostie to venue (Drarok, thx!), whose wonderous skill at driving on ice in borrowed car amazes  :)
Step 5: Wait for a bit outside hall... this one went to plan
Step 6: Get in, get beer, find good spot. Wait for somebody tall to stand in front of me - no-one does! Fantastic. :o
Step 7: Watch gig. Enjoy it enormously. Jump up and down a lot - Exactamundo.  :D
Step 8: Hang around after, have chat with Frost* members. This also went to plan. See Fig 1 and Fig 2, below.
Step 9: Get taxi back to Hotel with MikeEvs and Andy P. This sort of went to plan except I'd lost taxi number. MikeEvs to the rescue.
Step 10, Swift beer in bar then bed - This went tremendously pear shaped, in a good way. Had beer (thanks Andy P), watched England win 2nd Test. Turn around to find Mr. Mitchell standing next to me with Jem, Nathan, Nellie, Paul and others (apologies, drink has erased names from memory  :? ). Cue much revelry, then sleep (at about 2 I think  :D ) and sore head this morning. All in all, Bloody fantastic!  Thanks once again!

Apologies for the megapost, I'll shut up now.
People ask, "Why haven\'t aliens contacted our goverment by now?"
If you were a super intelligent, galaxy crossing being what would possibly make you want to speak to the government??

Ooops - caught gassing again!
Come on, you\'re a lion!

without reading the preceeding 8 pages - all I can think of with this thread title is DOH!  When I was sitting in the BnB all by myself waiting, waiting and waiting some more!  The BnB had free wifi and I was thinking should have brought a laptop with me...  :(

but I was really having a lovely time enjoying the peace and quiet and reading a book  :)

I shall now read this whole entire giant thread  :!:

Quote from: "LivingForever"I am well aware that people (and by "people" I mean "I") like to queue up stupidly early so as to be able to look up Jem's nose while he plays, or to examine JM's crotch from the front row (not me this time), .[/b]

hmmmm     Didn't even get past the 1st post!!

It is not my fault that he was wearing very revealing trousers at Islington.  I wasn't sure if I was pleased or disappointed when he wore normal trousers at Bilston and Derby
