Quote from: "eponymous"I also dug up Mikey's email and reached out to him.  Haven't heard from him yet but my fingers are crossed.
Besides, Mikey's gotta come back or I'll surpass him in posts! ;)

Indeed you did. (thanks for all the other messages as well)

Got a bit of a shock to see 7 pages on 'Mikey was right'.

Whilst I would admit there were a few things that were beginning to piss me off, my reasons for going were nothing to do with anything posted here, or anywhere else.
The last few months have not been good and I thought I needed to change a few things around.
John Young is the reason for coming back. Disappointed not to see any Frost* shirts in Sheffield on Sunday night, more later.......I have some catching up to do

Sorry if my thread title sounded like i had any idea why you were left Mikey, as obviously no one did. I kind of meant "at the time " you had the right idea, maybe i should have worded it better, sorry mate..

No apology needed.

Can we end all this welcome back stuff now, (It's not why I came back) Please........OK, Pretty please.

I have more from John Young. I need to think it through first though.

let me just try and understand something, is all serious talk here a big no no?  Does EVERYTHING have to be about effing cookies and stuff?   Is actually talking about Frost frowned upon?  Maybe it's british wit thing but I'm having a hard time understanding this forum.  MAybe I've been posting at mikeportnoy.com for too long.

I mean, noobs are a reality of the internet, there's always goign to be someone coming here for the first time wanting information about Frost.  And correct me if I'm wrong but at no time was the info about the crs orders posted in the news section on the actual website, people had to come to this forum to understand what was going on.  And if they have to sift through page after page of nonsense about biscuits they might get a little frustrated.

I haven't posted a lot because I've been doing my noob homework, reading the threads and trying to get a feel for the place but I gotta say it's really hard.

Quote from: "eponymous"Serious talk is certainly not a big no no.  Taking yourself and others too seriously might be.  Tom had some newbie rules posted on the other forum that sorta pointed out the general lunacy here but the fact is, there are no rules.  While there are no rules there is a culture.  Oft times it might be more akin to something in a petri dish than in "the real world".  Those of use who have stuck around a bit tend to revel in all sorts of mischief.  Puns.  Really bad ones (watch for Pedro).  Derailing threads.  Around here going off topic is kinda the norm.  It takes some getting used to, I can say from personal experience, but it is almost never-ever-ever-ever personal.  It's just something we tend to do.  Jem pops 'round and chimes in -- sometimes answering serious questions seriously, sometimes not.  Sometimes he doesn't even notice them.  It's not personal.  I went out in a lifeboat to drag Mikey and Rick back because of the simple fact that they, and almost every regular, semi-regular, irregular poster here are the best friends I never had.  If you stick around and get in the groove I'm sure you'll feel that way too.  We're all very different, some of us are old enough to be some of our parents (??? never mind, I know what I meant)...

But we're all Frost*ies.

WORD.

I just think it can be a bit rude if someone comes in not knowing the ins and out of everything and asking an honest question only to see the thread become complete nonsense.  Most forums have rules against excessive bullshit posts but I understand this is a small operation.

wickedwitch

yes. small and select. sorry if it's confusing for you. Do feel free to PM one of us if you seriously need an answer to something. we are much more normal on PM.

We dont mean to be rude; we do like having fun and there are plenty of other, more staid, forums out there if you feel the need for some normalcy!!

best of luck.
