It's Mrs O's birthday tomorrow
Celebrate with some beer, p'raps Sapporo?
A Poirot, you say?
A herculean day!
To banish her year-older sorrow.

Rosetta will soon be at play.

Cowabunga, JimD: unwittingly, you have put the cat well and truly among the pigeons here at ESA. We have all always said "Fee-lay" and so to think that it might actually be "Fy-lee" has caused some turmoil as I walked up and down the corridor testing people, including the project scientist. We'll check with an Egyptian, but in the meantime I have to stand up in front of a bunch of journalists at a media briefing on the mission next Tuesday in Germany to describe the mission, and know now that I'll stumble when that word comes up  :o

-----
EDIT: Have done a bit of research, even to the extent of watching several YouTube videos with people taking tours around the Philae temple complex in Egypt and listening carefully to the local guides. It appears as though both Fee-lay and Fy-lee are used, along with Fi-lay and Fi-lee. Could be because this is the Greek name for the site and not native for Egyptians. In ancient Egyptian, it was Pilak or P'aaleq, but how's they're pronounced is anyone's guess. Is Amenhotep III a member of this forum?  8)

If you haven't seen it yet, we're running a bit of a social media campaign to get people fired-up for the mission, and will be announcing a competition on Tuesday that I very much hope some Frost*ies take part in. Until then, here's the first teaser video, with the second to come soon:

Ain't science a marvellous thing,
Such wonders to us it does bring,

[By the way, outstanding teamwork on the previous two limericks, chaps: terrific stuff. I may even be compelled to use them during Tuesday's media briefing  8)]
