Ain't science a marvellous thing,
Such wonders to us it does bring,
The progress we make
(When not burned at the stake)
Goes to deepen our understanding

In a galaxy far, far, away

Yup, the guy in the black polo shirt pointing the finger, second from the right   8)

Did anyone manage to catch the live-stream on our website? My talk did include a certain pair of limericks plus a rather well-known logo  ;)

Can be watched in full at:

Watch the whole thing, by all means, or jump in to about 9 mins ...  ;D

Well played TA!  8)  Next to getting Hornby to release a Frost* covered wagon, that has to be one of the most impressive pieces of subversive Frost* promotion ever!  Jem will be proud of you.
Come on, you\'re a lion!

JimD

Wow, I can't believe all those people heard our little bits of wordplay! That's so kool!

An excellent explanation about the spaceships and comet by the way, and also a nice use of the Frost*erisk in the slides :D

Awesome, TA! I think this pair can join the reverse limerick in the Frost Forum hall of fame.

Thanks, Rook, JimD, and DS: much appreciated. I showed my wife the stream when I came home this evening and she looked at me askance: "How did you get away with that?", she said, thinking me very self-indulgent.

Which, of course, it was. But good fun too ... and besides, the limericks got clapped: the in-room audience loved 'em, so take a huge pat on the back, all of you clever little buggers.

(I have to admit that I did slightly tweak the limericks for emphasis, but, hey, I'm sure you all understand).

And thanks for the reminder of the reverse limerick, Rook: definitely one of our very finest moments  8)

I'm going to take this conversation to a separate thread now ... 'cos you've all got homework to do  ;)

Funny that it should come up again now... This just turned up in one of my favourite web comics.

I promise it was after I last posted :)

I must've missed that, or (worse yet) contributed and not noticed (say it ain't so, someone)

Bit of a shame you want a video TA, I'm bloody useless with cameras: give me £10k of Canon with more flash than Wembley Stadium and I'd still cut 3" off your forehead. And half the time I forget that you can't do a video at 90 degrees :P Still, great idea and the presentation made me chuckle  ;D

Thanks, Owen. Mobile phone selfie video is fine and dandy. And cutting the tops of people's heads could be a valid artistic position  ;)
